Values of the National anthem
A national anthem (also national hymn, song etc.) is a generally patriotic musical composition that evokes and eulogizes the history, traditions and struggles of its people, recognized either by a nation's government as the official national song, or by convention through use by the people. The majority of national anthems are either marches or hymns in style.
As much as a National Anthem says a lot ab out a country, not all nations value it the same way because different Anthems say a whole lot of things. The Congo national anthem asks: “And if we have to die/ Does it really matter?” The opening line of Ukraine’s anthem is: “Ukraine is not yet dead.”
Not everyone enjoys singing their National Anthem. British athletes stayed silent during the singing of the anthem (God Save the Queen) at the London Olympics 2012. Piers Morgan to donate £1,000 to Great Ormond Street every time a British winner sings the national anthem at the London Olympics 2012.
i think if the national anthem has lyrics then it should be sung
ReplyDeleteThe national Anthem is nolonger being practiced with an understanding of the words, and some of the citizens they dont even know it-WHAT A SHAME!
ReplyDeletei think it is a good thing for countries to sing their national anthem because not singing them its it potray a bad image its like they do not like their countries so how will they give their best if they do not like their countries they should be proud of who they are and where they come from
